The objectives of the Italian Association of Medical and
Biological Engineering A.I.I.M.B. shall be scientific, technological,
literary, and educational. Within the field of medical,
clinical and biological engineering its aims shall be to
encourage research and the application of knowledge, and
to disseminate information and promote collaboration.
The A.I.I.M.B., in relation to its specific field of interest
and in the framework of the International Federation, engages
in any of the following activities: sponsorship of national
and international conferences, meetings and workshop, dissemination
of information, awarding of prizes, establishment of professional
standards and ethics within the field or in any other activities
concerning medical, clinical or biological engineering.
It may promote the formation of specialized societies, groups
or boards, the co-ordination of bibliographic or informational
services and the improvement of standards in terminology,
equipment, methods and safety practices, and the delivery
of health care.
In general the Association, in the framework of the International
Federation, shall work to promote improved communication
and understanding in the world community of engineering,
medicine and biology.
