In June 2012, in Beijin (China), Dr Ernesto Iadanza, University of Florence and member of the AIIMB, was appointed as Secretary of the Clinical Engineering Division of the International Federation of Medical and Biological Engineering.

The IFMBE has only two divisions, Clinical Engineering and Health Technology Assessment, and the AIIMB is the only Scientific Society represented in both divisions.
